Become a Vendor.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

  • Guidelines

    ● All products sold will be made or grown by vendors, members of their immediate family or an employee of the farm. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis by the Steering Committee in order to have “essential,” locally produced products at the market.

    ● Completed application and fee will be due on March 1st. Applicants will be notified of the market’s decision by April 1st. Late applications will be accepted, but might not be considered in the first round. Late applicants will be notified within 2 weeks of receiving the application.

    ● Vendors are responsible for obtaining any licenses and/or insurance needed for their products.

    ● You will be required to anonymously report sales totals at the end of the season to the market. These totals should be broken down by category: Agriculture, Prepared Food, Crafts.

    ● Vendors should arrive no later than 9:30am to set up, spaces are first come first serve, and no vendor has claim to a preferred space. Vendors are expected to fill in the next available spaces to ensure even growth of the market layout on both sides of the market. If you require electricity, you are required to bring a 100ft extension cord to allow for flexibility in spacing.

    ● New vendors should check in with Kris Coville or the site helper upon arrival to be directed to an available spot for set up.

    ● All vehicles will be moved away from parking areas to the north of the Common after unloading, in order to make parking available to shoppers. Vendors can remain parked in grass on the Academy side of the Common.

    ● No driving or parking on the common. No parking on the Memorial. Avoid parking in wet areas.

    ● Vendors may not bring their pets to market.

    ● We request that all vendors be respectful of the market hours 10-1. If you run out of product, please leave your tent/table set up in place until the end of market. If you plan to leave the premises, consider leaving a nice “sold out” sign.

    ● Each vendor will pay a $100 non-refundable fee. (If you are not accepted as a vendor your check will be destroyed) Space fee will cover immediate/farm family. Vendors trying out the market can choose to pay $35/market, up to three markets, at which point they will be paid up for the remaining season. Our market contributes to the upkeep of Craftsbury Common, through donations to the Village Improvement Society, please add an extra $5 to help if you are willing to do so.

    ● Children under 18 will be charged their age in dollars for their season fee. (Does not include July 12th A&U Festival)

    ● Non-profit vendors will be charged on a case by case basis. They are expected to charge fair market prices and clearly identify their organization.

    ● Vendors are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and polite manner. If vendors cannot follow these guidelines, they may be asked to leave the market and forfeit their fee. Please contact a Steering Committee member with any concerns/issues.

    ● Craftsbury Farmers’ Market reserves the right to limit the number of similar vendors or product types.

    ● This is a community-run market, vendors are encouraged to take on a task to make the market run smoothly.

    ● There will be a minimum of two mandatory meetings yearly for vendors to attend. If you have ideas or concerns, please bring them to our attention. This season’s mandatory Spring Meeting will be April 13th @ 2pm and the

End of Season Potluck/Feedback Meet-Up will be Oct. 4th @ 11:00, both at the UCC Church Dining Hall.

    ● If you have an Instagram or Facebook account, please tag the Craftsbury Farmers’ Market to help us reach a wider audience.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do. Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
